Rotating postal strikes are currently affecting mail delivery across the country. Since Souls Harbour Rescue Mission receives a large number of donations through the mail, this strike will have a significant impact on us.
What can you do to help? Try a different donation method.
We are so thankful for all of our generous donors who make it possible to provide over 80,000 meals for our hungry neighbours each year. So as we enter our busiest season, we want to share how this strike will affect Souls Harbour Rescue Mission and how you can help minimize these effects.
While the strike will not keep your gift from reaching our office by mail, it could take significantly longer to arrive than usual. If you want to ensure your gift reaches your hungry neighbours as quickly as possible, you might want to make your donation by a different method (online, phone or in person).
Souls Harbour Rescue Mission sends out a number of letters during the holidays to help us raise the funds needed to support our hungry neighbours. These letters are printed in advance and sent according to a schedule throughout the holiday season.
Unfortunately, because of the delivery delays and rotating strikes, your letters might also be delayed. Which means you may get a letter later than we’d hoped, more than one letter at once, or a letter after you’ve already given a donation. This delay may also affect the delivery of tax receipts and acknowledgement letters that we send through the mail.
We appreciate your understanding and your patience with the timing of letter delivery. We also want to hear from you if you have any questions or concerns regarding the mail you have received. So, if you want to check the status of your tax receipt or have any other questions, please contact us at 306-543-0011 ext. 2.
We deeply value the support that you provide through your donations. Thank you for giving hope to men, women and children across our community this holiday season.
